HISTORY
The Department of Anatomy is pre-clinical department, which is actively involved in teaching Anatomy to Medical students. As a department, it upholds the Institution’s vision statement and so the quest for excellence in teaching service and research.
The Department teaches Undergraduate Medical students to achieve comprehensive knowledge in Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Microanatomy of the human body which is fundamental for Clinical practice. It seek UG students a sense of wonder at the beauty of human body, so that they learn values of respect for themselves, understand cadavers.
The Department runs a Voluntary body Donation programme . The Donated bodies are used for academic and research purpose. Those who are willing to donate their bodies (>40 yrs) can contact the department.
It conducts various academic competitions including Model making, Histology rangoli, Body painting for the UG students.

As per NMC norms, curriculum is followed as below

• Lecture theatre (equipped with smart board, audiovisual aids)- 180 students capacity
• Demonstration room 1- 75 students capacity

• Histology laboratory- equipped with 75 microscopes
• Department Library with 100 books
DEPARTMENT MUSEUM :
We have a well organized museum with 150 wet specimens.
The specimens are arranged in the following manner-
- Gross Anatomy– Upper limb, lower limb, abdomen and Pelvis, Thorax,
Head and Neck, Brain
- Embryology
- Models – Embryology, Gross Anatomy
OTHERS :
• Embalming room with cadaver storage tank
• Cold storage room (2 coolers where we can store 12 cadavers)
